THE breakfast INCIDENT.
A story in three small detours.
Evidence 001: the spoon and the wrong utensil
The bowl was right there. So was the milk. So were the cereal loops, floating around like tiny life preservers.
Sad Spoon looked at the fork in his hand. Then at himself. It's a lot to think about before coffee.
He left the table to get some air. He kept the fork. Nobody knows why.
STATUS: STILL GOING
A route with no map / 03 stops
OUT FOR a bit.
He didn't solve breakfast. He just kept moving.
Stop 01 / a bench, a puddle, a little weather
08:12 / BUS STOP01
WAIT here.
He took the bus stop even though he wasn't catching a bus. The rain made every streetlight look softer. Nobody asked why he was carrying a fork.
FORECAST: LIGHT RAIN MOOD: WORKING ON IT
10:46 / LAUNDROMAT02
SPIN cycle.
At the laundromat, the machines went round and round. Sad Spoon watched one long enough to remember that a loop can keep going without going nowhere.
NO LAUNDRY. JUST A THOUGHT.
Stop 02 / the world keeps turning
05:58 / CORNER DINER03
ONE small THING.
By dawn, he found a diner with an empty booth. Someone had left a single cereal loop on a saucer. It wasn't breakfast. It was a start.
NO GRAND FINALE. JUST THE NEXT MORNING.
Stop 03 / one loop is enough to begin
INTERACTIVE / THE LITTLE LIFTNO PERFECT MORNING REQUIRED
A LITTLE less SAD.
Give the little guy a cereal loop. It won't fix everything. It might help breakfast.
